We’re conveniently located at 2131 E Broadway Rd Suite 34, Tempe, AZ 85282, just minutes from Phoenix, Scottsdale, Mesa, and other Maricopa County areas. Find us on Google Maps.

Our courses are designed for everyone, including healthcare professionals (nurses, doctors, EMTs), students, educators, parents, caregivers, workplace safety officers, and community members looking to learn life-saving skills.

Course Information

We offer a variety of CPR and first aid courses at our Tempe location, including:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR AED ($98.95, 2+ hours): For healthcare professionals.
  • Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED (Adult/Child & Infant) ($108.95, 2+ hours): For non-medical individuals.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) ($318, 2+ hours): For medical professionals.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) ($318, 6 hours): For pediatric emergencies.

All courses are AHA-certified and include materials with no additional fees.

Course durations vary:

  • BLS and Heartsaver: Approximately 2–3 hours.
  • ACLS: Approximately 2–4 hours.
  • PALS: Approximately 6 hours. Times may adjust based on class size and participant needs.

Absolutely! You can enroll in multiple courses based on your needs and schedule. For example, you might combine BLS and Heartsaver for comprehensive training. Check availability on our booking page.

Yes, we provide streamlined renewal courses for BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Heartsaver certifications at the same price as initial courses. Ensure your certification hasn’t expired, and contact us if you need assistance.

You’ll receive an American Heart Association (AHA) certification, valid for 2 years and recognized nationally and internationally. Certification cards are issued immediately upon course completion.

All our courses are in-person at our Tempe facility, combining instructional and hands-on practice for a complete learning experience. We do not offer online-only courses, ensuring you gain practical skills under Patrick’s guidance.

  • BLS is tailored for healthcare professionals, focusing on advanced CPR techniques, team dynamics, and AED use in clinical settings.

  • Heartsaver is for non-medical individuals (e.g., parents, teachers), covering CPR, AED, and first aid for adults, children, and infants in everyday scenarios.

Registration and Preparation

All course materials, including manuals and equipment, are provided. Wear comfortable clothing suitable for hands-on practice (e.g., kneeling, performing compressions). Bring a pen for notes if desired, and have a valid ID for registration.

We recommend booking at least 1–2 weeks in advance to secure your preferred time slot, especially for weekend or evening classes. Same-day or last-minute bookings may be accommodated based on availability—call us to check!

Yes, you can register on behalf of another person. Provide their name and contact details during booking, and let us know if they have specific needs (e.g., accommodations).

  • Monday–Saturday: 8:00 AM–8:00 PM
  • Sunday: Closed

Classes are scheduled within these hours, including evenings and weekends for flexibility.

Yes, ample free parking is available at our Tempe facility, making it easy for participants to attend.

Our Tempe location is wheelchair-accessible, with accommodations available for participants with disabilities. Contact us in advance to discuss specific needs.

Currently, all training is conducted at our Tempe facility. For group training at your location (e.g., schools, offices), contact us to discuss off-site options within Maricopa County.

Instructor and Class Experience

We keep classes small, with a maximum of 10 participants, ensuring personalized instruction and ample hands-on practice. One-on-one sessions are also available for a tailored experience.

Yes, we adhere to CDC guidelines, using sanitized equipment, optional masks, and social distancing where possible. Our Tempe facility is clean, well-lit, and designed for a comfortable learning experience.

Pricing and Policies

  • BLS CPR AED: $98.95
  • Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED: $108.95

All prices are all-inclusive, covering materials and certification with no hidden fees.

Cancellations or rescheduling requests must be made at least 24 hours before the class. Late cancellations may incur a fee. Contact us at (626) 674-7784 or info@theheartstart.com to adjust your booking.

Refunds are available for cancellations made 24+ hours in advance. Within 24 hours, we may offer a credit for a future class instead. Contact us to discuss your situation.

We accept major credit cards through our secure online booking system. For group or special arrangements, contact us to discuss alternative payment options.

Group and Custom Training

Yes, we provide group training for organizations, schools, hospitals, and community groups in Maricopa County. We can tailor sessions to your needs and schedule, either at our Tempe facility or your location. Email info@theheartstart.com for a quote.

Absolutely! We specialize in workplace safety training for offices, schools, and businesses. Group sessions can cover BLS, Heartsaver, or a mix, with flexible scheduling to minimize disruption. Contact us to plan your training.

Certification and Renewals

All AHA certifications (BLS, Heartsaver, ACLS, PALS) are valid for 2 years from the date of completion. You’ll receive a digital or physical card to track your certification.

You can still take a renewal course if your certification is expired, but you may need to complete the full course if it’s been significantly longer than 2 years. Contact us to confirm your eligibility.

Yes, our AHA certifications are globally recognized and accepted by most employers, schools, and licensing boards. If you have specific requirements, let us know before registering to confirm.

Additional Questions

Yes, our Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course includes a first aid component, covering topics like wound care, choking, and allergic reactions. You can opt to focus on first aid if desired—contact us to customize.

Currently, all courses are offered in English. If you need assistance (e.g., translation support), please let us know in advance, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

The AHA recommends renewing every 2 years, but practicing skills regularly (e.g., through refresher courses) can boost confidence. We offer renewal courses to keep your skills sharp.
